Yes, I’m doing the next thing. That does not mean my brain has joined me yet.

Part of it is still finishing the email I just sent, replaying the conversation I just had, remembering the three things the last task reminded me to do, and trying to figure out why we’ve apparently moved on when I was very much still using that brain.

For anyone who can switch tasks physically much faster than they can switch tasks mentally. The body has moved on. The brain is buffering somewhere behind us.
